LMI LaserGauge® Sensors

LaserGauge® Sensors

LaserGauge® sensors are available for portable, handheld, or assembly line use and take accurate measurements on opaque, transparent, and shiny materials.

Red And/or Blue Laser Technology

Selection of Red vs Blue laser technology comes down to a question of the surface material being measured. Red laser technology is used on solid surfaces, such as painted or unpainted non-shiny surfaces, and is less expensive. Blue laser technology works accurately on various surfaces including painted, unpainted, translucent, transparent, some plastic, composite, and shiny.

LaserGauge® DSP Sensors

LaserGauge® DSP Sensors are portable 2D and 3D Scanning Sensors that offer fast, flexible, and accurate measurements on a wide variety of surface types.

Now available with an optional blue laser, LaserGauge® DSP Sensors are totally self-contained and allow single stripe, Cross-Hatch or Cross-Vector scans with unmatched speed and flexibility. DSP Sensors are capable of scanning a wide variety of surface types including solid metal, paint, plastic/rubber, headlamps, tail lamps, window glass, composite, chrome surfaces.

  • Measurements in less than a second
  • Resolution to 25µm
  • No sensor movement while scanning
  • Interface to PC with USB or wireless Zigbee

LaserGauge® USB Sensor

The LaserGauge® TS800 USB Sensor is a 2-D scanner that takes stable, precise measurements of the smallest features such as pitting, corrosion, scratches and dents.

The TS800 USB Sensor is specifically designed for multipurpose or specialised applications that require inspecting and measuring small features on translucent, shiny, or opaque surfaces. The sensor’s small size, light weight, reduced footprint and narrow tapered stem gives it access to highly restricted areas.

The TS800 USB sensor is a high-resolution scanner that captures the 2D surface profile and transfers it to a Windows™ PC via a USB 2.0 port for processing and display. If ruggedisation is required, the TS800 Sensor can also be used with a LaserGauge® LG7000 controller.

LaserGauge® Leading Edge Sensor

The LaserGauge® Leading Edge Sensor is a compact 2D sensor used to inspect the leading edge of blades or vanes utilised in aircraft and power system engines, designed to scan both sides of the blade simultaneously.

The LaserGauge® Leading Edge Profiling System consists of a handheld or benchtop sensor and the Leading Edge software application. Designed to scan both sides of the blade simultaneously, the sensor returns a complete profile around the radius of the blade, which allows accurate measurements of the thickness and the plotting of the blade profile for comparison to its engineering design. The scan is then processed by the software in real time to extract measurements and analyze the contour. In addition, the edge radius can also be analyzed.

All models of USB Leading Edge sensors offer the same functionality but differ in the ability to measure different sizes of blades. All of the sensors are powered through a USB connection to a Windows laptop or computer, and all sensors must be run using the Leading Edge software application.
