Brunson's new Rock Steady® line of heavy-duty metrology stands (Pat. Pending) boost mobility—with dual-wheel 5” casters, a clever ‘hidden' trivet design and a new claw-foot tribrach base—and will easily roll unimpeded over most floor obstructions, including floor tracks, power cords, thresholds and uneven surfaces. The new Rock Steady stands are compatible with laser trackers, laser scanners, laser radar and CMM arms, and are available in four adjustable and four fixed configurations. All Brunson stands provide best-in-class metrology stability, durability, and product quality.

In response to customer suggestions, Brunson has re-engineered the company’s heavy-duty stand line—the new Rock SteadyTM line (patent pending) of metrology stands features:

NEW: Large, dual wheel, 5” casters improve mobility—the Rock Steady will roll unimpeded over most thresholds, power cords, floor tracks and uneven surfaces.
NEW: 'hidden trivets’ are designed to nest in a recessed position between the dual-wheel casters, effectively eliminating a source of potential floor contact and damage.
NEW: the trivets now feature tool-less precision leveling adjusters.
NEW: claw-foot tribrach base.
Re-designed and simplified foot-pedal operation.

The innovative re-design of the Rock Steady stand series required rigorous testing, ensuring the new stands support the tight-tolerance measurement requirements of the worlds’ metrologists. Dynamic product testing included:

Stability tests for deflection, with the Rock Steady line withstanding significant moment loads from portable CMM arms.
Crash-testing to ensure instrument protection and worker safety.
Instrument testing with a wide variety of laser trackers, measuring the stands’ ability to suppress the effects of instrument vibration upon metrology processes
Cycle testing to ensure durability over the long-term.
